Our September 2019 Section Meeting will look at digital transformation of process control systems.
ISA and the FabLab share a common vision. ISA wants to create a better world through automation. The vision of the FabLab located on Delgado Community College’s City Park campus, is to change the world through science, technology, engineering and math.
This presentation will discuss sample-handling systems primarily for continuous analyzers; however Gas Chromatographs also use this system. These continuous analyzers are used in applications such as, stack monitors to measure Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide and NOx. They are also used in other industrial applications as process control, ambient air monitors and environmental monitors.
Michelli Weighing & Measurement Thank you to Michelli Weighing & Measurement for an incredible event! Michelli welcomed the ISA New Orleans Section for its May meeting. The event included a catered lunch, presentation about Michelli’s history and services, and a tour of their state-of-the-art calibration lab. About Michelli […]
Axial and centrifugal compressor control is exceptionally challenging due to the extraordinary speed and severity of problems and the extreme
consequences in terms of plant safety and performance. The fastest and most dangerous phenomenon is surge. An axial or centrifugal compressor in surge can reverse flow in 0.03 seconds going from a large positive flow to a large negative flow. Often, the negative flow is not measurable by flow meters leaving the actual situation to your imagination.
Continuous availability and the need for always-on applications have always been critical requirements in the industrial control environment. Virtualization can help you realize increased up-time and quicker disaster recovery from hardware failures, therefore keeping your process running.
ISA – TR101.02 is in its 9th revision as a working draft and is soon to be released pending a successful vote. This presentation will give you a “behind the scenes” peek at the current draft. ISA standards define the “what” and Technical Reports provide guidance on the “how”.
