Scholarships

The ISA New Orleans Section’s Scholarships are awarded to engineering students enrolled at the University of New Orleans (UNO) who demonstrate outstanding potential for long-range contribution to the fields of automation and control. The scholarship awards support tuition and related expenses.

Each scholarship is a one-time payment and is not paid annually to the recipient. This scholarship provides for supplementary funding and is not intended to pay for any student’s full tuition, for a full term or full school year. Amount of Scholarship may vary from year to year.

Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Guidelines for the 2024/2025 Academic Year Scholarship Award

  1. Scholarships are awarded to successful applicants who will attend the University of New Orleans for Fall 2024 and/or Spring 2025 semesters as full-time students (12 credit hours for undergraduate and 9 credit hours for graduate). 
  2. Applicant must submit an essay of no less than 500 words (typed) describing his/her future goals and the contribution that a scholarship would make in achieving those goals. 
  3. Applicant must submit an copy of their most recent transcript (unofficial transcripts will be accepted). 
  4. Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the student (e.g. a teacher, coach, or mentor) but not related (not a family member or guardian) to the applicant. 

Deadline for Application: To be considered, the application and associated documents must be submitted online no later than April 30th. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants based on the quality of the essay, high school or college grades, accomplishments both academic and extracurricular, and the letters of recommendation.
