We had a great tour of G.T. Michelli Company in Harahan on Tuesday. Joel McMullen and team really rolled out the red carpet for New Orleans Section and provided an outstanding lunch, presentation, and tour. We learned quite a bit about weighing and measurement applications and the capabilities of Michelli to deliver solutions and calibrate equipment. I am very excited to announce our next event. On Friday, May 31, we will be hosting a Symposium and Expo at the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center. Doors will open at 1PM and attendees can tour table top exhibits from our sponsors and vendors. At 1:30PM you can get your much needed Ethics PDH by attending a presentation on “Ethical Challenges in Expert Witness Engagements” by Arthur Zatarain, PE. Art has seen it all in his last twenty years as an expert witness and forensic engineer. This presentation is sure to be interesting and entertaining. At 3PM, our Society President, Paul Gruhn, will conduct a Safety Town Hall presentation. Those of you who have attended these in the past know that no two are the same. Paul has an extensive list of topics he can discuss from Bhopal to Texas City , proven in use to partial stroking, and a host of other subjects and antidotes. We will wrap up the day with a social from 4PM to 5PM.

We will have many District 7 leaders from Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma in town for the District 7 Leadership Conference at the Hilton Garden Inn on Saturday, June 1. There will be opportunities to meet several of them on Friday at our Symposium and Expo. Hope to see you there. Register today!
