ISA New Orleans Section Members and Prospective Members,
This month’s presentation will be a real treat. We were able to secure speaker, John Laurence Busch, author of the book, “STEAM COFFIN Captain Moses Rogers and The Steamship Savannah Break the Barrier“. John will present from a technical and management prospective on the 1819 maiden journey of the first transatlantic steamship. A hybrid sailing ship with a 90HP steam engine was a technological game changer much like the self-driving and electric cars on our horizon. A ship that could keep a tight schedule changed commerce much like Amazon and app-based commerce is changing our lives today. Mr. Busch has presented to many technical organizations in many parts of the World. We are fortunate to have him come speak to our Section. The meeting will be held at the UNO Engineering Auditorium. We have opened the meeting up to students to attend at no charge in an effort to promote ISA and help build the Student Section. - Sun, April 29 – Family Fun Eat and Run to benefit LA Children’s Museums – We are participating as part of PIPE – Petroleum Industry Promoting Education
- Tue, May 8 – Ethics Presentation and Panel hosted by Richard Savoie with LAPELS – A chance to get that one hour ethics requirement for the year
- Tue, June 12 – ISA Standards Update by Nick Sands, ISA Standards Chair
